Who Can Join?
Boys and girls in 5th grade through 17 years-old who are ready for fun, adventure, and learning valuable life skills. No prior Scouting experience is needed!

To be eligible, youth must meet one of the following criteria:
- Age: Be at least 11 years old, but not yet 18.
- Grade: Be at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade, and register on or after March 1st.
- Arrow of Light: Have earned the Arrow of Light Award (the highest rank in Cub Scouting) and be at least 10 years old.
This means that fifth-grade students who are at least 10 years old can join Scouts BSA starting March 1st, even if they haven’t yet turned 11 or completed the fifth grade. Additionally, those who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old are eligible to join at any time.
